Toyota will not confirm or deny the information you have provided here. However, they suggest that this would be considered a generation 4 design concept and since the 2012 Prius was a generation 3 car, it will be at least another 3 years before a generation 4 car will be offered (2016?). The generation 3 car (2012-13) was a design disaster. It would be wonderful if the car with the changes you describe will be offered in 2014. We will trade our 2005 Prius for the 2014 model if your information is accurate. I guess we will know the future in January 2014!

I agree completely with Ted about the 2013 Prius being a design disaster. Furthermore, the interior is materially cheap. I mistakenly bought a 2013 Prius Three in June 2013 and have found the interior design to be so unpleasant that it is now for sale. I much prefer to drive the 2006 Prius over the 2013. It appears that my loss on this vehicle will be in the neighborhood of $5k (with 932 miles on it) but I’d rather lose the money than be upset every time I got in the vehicle. I bought the 2013 thinking “it”s a new car, I’ll get used to it” but it didn’t take long to realize how poorly the interior was designed along with how cheaply it was made from the plastic on the dash and doors to the carpets which seem to be backed by cardboard or plastic. The 2013 has been a total disappointment. Toyota should be ashamed for putting their name on such a disaster.
